Please, Please let it go
Ok, I know everyone is at best disgusted by Tiger Woods’ infidelity and betrayal, and at the very least awed by the shear number of mistresses. But come on people. It’s time to let it go.
There are still starving children in the world, the economy still sucks, and the globe is probably still warming. Do we really need to be THAT escapist? Can we not find a good movie to watch or book to read? Do we really care when or with whom someone we’ve never met (and probably will never meet) and who has not actual impact on our lives cheated on his wife? Ok, so he has a harem. So what?! He’s a celebrity. He’s not like the rest of us. The man’s job is to play golf and use certain branded products (which he received for free) for crying out loud! Please don’t tell me you relate because you don’t. Please don’t tell me he’s some sort of role model, because he’s not (or shouldn’t have been). Please find someone your kids can actually emulate to serve as a role model. Not someone who gets paid to do what doctors and lawyers do for fun.
I can’t say I’m surprised, though. I had to listen to the same crap when Kobe did it. I’m sure I’ll have to go through this again the next time this happens. But if you care for me at all, please, please just let it go.
